Social media has brought the world together, yet a few earthlings do not understand its importance, and the way it can effect their business.

In today’s rapidly changing advertising and communication media, a unidimensional
approach to branding can no more sustain a brand. Companies must understand new technologies and the role that they play in influencing customer preferences, and embrace them.

Its the era where every brand needs to be connected to its consumers and the way they feel about a product. Consumers speak, trend starts, businesses grow‐ or they are doomed‐ with a click of the mouse or push of a send button. In order to succeed today, one must not only understand what their consumers want, but how they find that information, validate it and make decisions. With social media, the power has decidedly shifted away from marketers to consumers; citizen journalists influence a brand’s reputation, and customer perceptions influence a brand’s image more
than ever before.

The sooner this is understood, the better :)
